We welcome two of Leeds most exciting young jazz musicians, Sam Ehret-Pickett (trumpet and effects) and Reece Soko-Fogg (saxophone). The pair were part of the mesmerising Amon Ra Collective at last year’s special ‘Behind the Sun’ gig that impressed a full audience by their innovative musical direction.
Sam is a multi-instrumentalist who regularly plays with groups such as Ancient Infinity Orchestra, Fergus Quill's Imaginary Big Band, The Project and Amon Ra Collective.
Reece is an alto-saxophonist influenced by the great players such as Charlie Parker, Jackie McLean and Cannonball Adderley; he attempts to infuse the soundscapes of modal jazz with the energy of be-bop and the fast and rhythmic beat of his Malawian heritage.
In the Support slot are some of Scarborough’s most dynamic and prolific young musicians taking influences from classic era ECM artists and contemporary post rock.
